When I watch football I absolutely avoid any pre-game or during-game optimism.
It seems the times when I've thought, "oh, we've got this" something stupid happens and we lose.
But when I think "oh man we're fricked" we pull through.
I got a bit excited during the national championship, and I feel like it was I who lost the game for Clemson.

Same here. I have to be full of negativity before the event. Makes the victory sweeter if you were convinced you'd lose
