Only one year of probation was added. Glad to have that over with.

Not terribly familiar with what probation does. Just "look out, we are watching you"?

Yes, it's nothing essentially. May limit some fringe recruiting contact.

Won't be any kind of albatross when hiring a new coach.

Good question. Besides that, I view this as a slap on the wrist, compared to how things could have turned out.

Best thing that's happened for the basketball coach search after this season.

While I feel bad for Kimbo...and I do wish him well this year, I just can't see how he can possibly make enough progress to earn year 4.

I can't see even one dim twinkling of a bright spot on the horizon.

I'm willing to openly admit to wearing black/gold-colored glasses....

I think the people who populate the soph/freshman classes may have something special brewing.

Terrence Phillips is really all about Mizzou. He seems like an absolute gym rat who is ready to be a leader--something this program hasn't really had in any visible way for quite some time. And he will be a year better.

Kevin Puryear already showed his vast potential last year. Again, should be better.

KJ Walton--showed flashes of brilliance moving inside

CVL--holding out hope.

These three all seem to have a close bond that should translate into examples to others on the team.

The incoming freshman, also seem to be buying in, and two of them played together already. So hopefully there's come chemistry there.

I really like these guys and--maybe--because all these folks KA recruited, maybe they will respond better to him as a coach.

Trying to be positive, likely to the point of naivete. Hopefully the extra practices and game time during this Italian tour will yield results.

It has to be better, right? Please?

Sofa, I hope you're right. As an old geezer who remembers tying our buckboard horses up to the hitching posts on Red Campus...and using slate boards and chalk for note-taking, I've had decades of every-year bubble bursting by sports teams/coaches/ADs/players and can't-miss recruits.

Seems we've always been bridesmaids, never the bride.

When I pass the pearly gates, I fear I'll even be greeted by smirking Nebraska alums, yucking Alabamans, and a-hole Texans...all the while hearing "Boomer Sooner" blasting over the PA.

I must face the truth. God hates Missouri fans.

Sofa you're getting dangerously close to being a KA fan bc like you said he brought all of these guys in....you may want to take a step back.

There is some solid talent in the freshmen and sophomore classes. I just have doubts that the talent there is going to be ready this year.
In 2 years the next coach could have a solid group of upperclassmen in Puryear, Phillips, Walton, Geist, Hughes, Smith, & Jackson.
