He's driven and detail oriented to the point of autism it seems (no, I don't think he's actually autistic). He is wired in a way where he cannot stand failure, and as a head college football coach at a major school, he can control every aspect of the program to ensure that success.

He didn't have the same level of control in the NFL, and it undermined his ability to succeed. He wasn't terrible in the NFL, but he wasn't special either.

This is on the money. His biggest headache in Miami was dealing with the GM. He's not geared to allow a GM to have any control over team matters.
