quote:

Muschamp may have flopped during four mostly forgettable seasons at the University of Florida, but he will thrive at a place where there is less pressure, lower expectations and a second chance to correct the mistakes he made at Florida.

quote:

Muschamp took center stage Thursday at SEC Media Days and was confident, reflective and, yes, funny. He joked about not remembering how he broke his finger during an emotional rant at halftime last season when he was defensive coordinator at Auburn. "I wear my emotions on my sleeve a little more than I should, so, I don't remember that situation," he deadpanned. "Sometimes, I black out."

quote:

He even took a couple of good-natured shots at his Florida media critics, including poking fun at yours truly's glowingly handsome chrome dome and distinctively melodic voice. Muschamp definitely won Media Days, but then again he always does.

quote:

The Gamecocks are under no delusions of grandeur
unlike some other teams in the SECe.

I don't disagree. Didn't work out at Florida. He's still a good coach and leader. I think he'll do well at SC, think it's a really good fit

By win he must mean 7-5.

All he has to do is win one game and the prophecy is fulfilled.

This has to be reassuring to Gamecock fans.

That comes off as they had a good working relationship while he was at Florida and now he's taking up for his buddy. He had every resource a coach could need at Florida and failed. Now we should believe he will manage to do better at a school with less football resources? Seems completely legit.

I highly doubt it. He just doesn't have the makeup to be a HC imo.

Except for a QB. That was his downfall, plain and simple.

Muschamp can scout talent. USC will become better very quickly on defense. The telnet infusion he brought in one year here at Auburn was worth the $2 million we had him.

How does Biancchi keep his job? He must work cheap. He is not qualified to write obits for a weekly paper.

Hope he's right. I liked having a strong USC in the East.

Not having a QB is stupid excuse. Miles hasn't had a QB in a long time and he still does much better then Muschamp. Muschamp does a good job of getting talent on defense mainly DBs but he didn't get anymore talent on defense then the UF coaches before him. His talent on offense is a joke. Muschamp struggled because He couldnt recruit and develop players on offense and the play calling was horrible. All of the QBs and RBs on the team now are coach Mac's recruits and a lot of the OL and WRs. Muschamp had the advantage of Meyer stepping away from football and not taking half of the good players he had interested in UF like he did to coach Mac.

Les Miles will be available for the Kentucky job before Muschamp. y'all almost fired him last year and his seat is the hottest in the SEC.

Vanderbilt has a better chance to win the SEC than South Carolina winning a game in the SEC.
