which begs the question... why was he recruited?

Jennings was very highly recruited (4-star, #214 overall in nation; had offers from Ark, BC, Cinci, Colorado, UK, Mizzou, MSU, NU, UNC, OM, UO, VT, UW & Wisky). That whole QB class from 2013 though is a pile-o-shite. Hayden Rettig was also a 4-star and #153 overall in country, he transferred a lot quicker than Jennings did.

Goes to show how much a crapshoot QB recruiting really is. Hayden is at Rutgers now and was a backup last year and is not expected to start this year either as a 4th year junior.

Rettig was upset when Jennings got the nod for the 2014 starting QB position after spring practice and left. Jennings then went on to have on of the most shitastic seasons in LSU history for a QB. then in 2015 we had to start back at square one with another young completely inexperienced QB. At least this one has talent to work with.

+1 That's why it's paramount for a program to have a solid QB coach on staff, and even then these guys may not pan out. It makes sense to take a grad-transfer or a Juco that has some experience and PT under their belt.
