According to some, Oxford is only on the list because we paid every writer in America to continually rank us up there.

Not sure who would say as such. Oxford is gorgeous, though I admit it's been a long time since I visited and have no idea what all there is to do there.
Regardless, the scenery is worth the trip even if there wasn't anything to do (not that I'm saying there isn't)

ole miss's downtown looks rough, some old ugly buildings. plus it isn't right next to campus
