I see the editorial conveniently left out the fact that there were 2 other people in the car that were not charged.

was that mentioned in the police report? or was it just something the defense attorney said. Also what is the importance of that possible fact in regards to this article?

The other two guys were not mentioned in the incident report. It seems odd that a defense attorney would make up two phantom passengers.

As for the significance of those two unnamed passengers: if you are trying to make a case based on constructive possession, it's a pretty big problem that the report completely fails to mention half of the possible possessors.

No, it wasn't mentioned in the police report because he let the let the other 2 go before he filed charges against the two that just happened to be Alabama football players.

And, it was the lawyer who stated that there were 2 other people in the vehicle who were let go. All four were handcuffed but 2 were let go.

At the end, he explains that, as far as the felony charge of a gun with drugs, there has to be an action taking place with the gun... like using it to shoot drug dealers, etc.

Listen to the lawyer's take on this video LINK

He says that it was not illegal to be in the park that was closed. He says that Hootie brought the gun to the attention of the police officer and it was not illegal to have gun in Louisiana. "There's no law against carrying a gun in La, in open view"

After Jones called attention to the gun, all 4 in the car were handcuffed even though there were no cause to do so.
