As for you, OP, you know my background. Next Saturday will be my 5 year wedding anniversary to a white gal (I was 22 when I got married, and she was 21. Our birthday's are both in July).

You've gotten some good advice from a lot of perspectives itt. Meeting on his terms, in my opinion, is an excellent sign of good faith. Be careful, of course, but just present yourself as a man who loves his daughter very much and is willing to go to any lengths (even potentially uncomfortable ones) to make her happy and show her family respect.

If he can't respect that, that's his problem, not yours.
