Carper said he plans to major in African studies and that what a school has to offer off the field will be more important than what it does on it. He said he won't consider schools that don't have his major and that he is also looking for a program with a racially diverse student body.

When I think of racial diversity, Texas A&M is the first school that comes to mind.

I was curious about this so I looked it up. According to this, their student population is about 60-63% white and 3.5% black. They've got an extremely large Hispanic population at 20%. Other than Mississippi State, I doubt any other SEC school has a single minority population that large.

Interesting. Going from tiny Plain Dealing to College Station is going to be a culture shock

Why do you shite on a thread about a deserving young man who is excited about where he will attend college?

Seemed like a rational response to me.

I kind of agree with you.

The kid gets to play D1 football in the SEC. Let him enjoy it.

He isn't a Cam Robinson, He wanted to stay home and play in the SEC, but he didn't get to.

Lay off him.

Nobody cares. You defense can't stop anyone and you can't pay enough to keep QBs around
