Not true. While they will still follow the sporting events at LSU, they will first spend their money on the pro sport and the pro sport will be "their team". Of course you will have some that closely follow both and some that will only follow college sports instead of the pro team, but as a general rule, college sports is less popular in towns that have the equivalent pro sports team.

the dude said LSU does not have support from NOLA because it is a Saints town. That is a laughable statement. Go into any bar in NOLA on a game day, and they will all be full of tiger fans. I-10 is full of cars travelling from NOLA to BR on game day. Just because NOLA has the Saints does not in any way have any bearing on the fact that NOLA is a pro LSU town. His comment got even more ridiculous when he brought up Tulane
