Except it hasnt been. It was diverged from Judaism so that the roman empire could have its own version monotheism. They even twisted it from the original christians (melkites), who like the jews, didnt believe in the fake jesus story. The church and religion has always been about power and control. Which is why the atheist Emperor Constantine adopted the religion into the polytheist empire.

I think our definition of Christianity is slightly different. I'm not talking about Roman Catholicism.
...besides, the people the Romans took it from DEFINATELY believed in Jesus. They were the church he established before his ascension. After the Catholics adopted the word as their own, they christened the people they took it from "Anabaptists" which means re-baptized, or re-born. This is BC the R Catholics believed that one could be baptized at birth and that qualified a person for heaven. The Anabaptists believed that one must be "born again", or what we know as Saved.. it is a spiritual rebirth.
