Auburn fans like to beat their chest because they played Florida every season for years. I'm just pointing out that Auburn wasn't playing Spurrier's or Urban's Florida back then.

I'm pretty sure Auburn played Florida annually through the early 2000s... which would have encompassed the entire Spurrier era actually. And didn't Auburn have some big wins against Urban when he was in Gainsville? I thought they even beat one of his national championship teams if I remember correctly.

The Auburn-Florida rivalry always seemed like a good one to me. I would like to see it played annually again. The more "Big 6 vs. Big 6" matchups, the better for the league.

You did remember correctly.

It was a great one. UF was the first big teams to play in Auburn on a consistent basis as well.

AU is the only SEC team he didn't beat while at Florida. Auburn is also the closest geographically to Florida. I miss playing the gators every year.
