Jay Jacobs proposed that all SEC teams fall under the same requirements in baseball (can't remember exactly what he was asking for) but it was shot down by the other schools. As a college baseball fan pre nerfed bats, I always wanted one of the state teams to become a power. It would have been nice to follow a team to Omaha. But I have come to the conclusion it will never happen. Every 10-15 years one will put up a decent team, but it is impossible to have sustained success under the current scholly regs. The state needs to progress out of the early 20th century for any changes to happen.

That argument would work so much better if Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and even Southern Miss didn't have consistent success with no lottery scholarships.
