Soooo...we residents of Boone County have some sort of obligation to support MIZZOU athletics?

What he says is true lets face the facts. Moving to NWA a few years ago this area is all about the Hogs. Same when I lived in NWMO and was near Lincoln/Omaha the fan support was off the chart. There are loads of excuses but too many Mizzou fans/residents are just not vested enough. Now if you are on here you probably are vested but the excuses for lack of fan support are pathetic..Deer Season...the Cards..we sucked for 20 years...all excuses.

No one is obligated. Hell, more of that obligation falls on the university to create an atmosphere and experience that makes local people WANT to attend games, not because they're obligated but because they want to. The simple fact is, is that there are a few die hards, particularly when talking about non revenue sports but when compared to other college towns, the local support is miniscule when compared to others. The simple fact is they can't rely on people to drive 4 hours day in and day out for the non revenue sports.

Just as important, the university does little to draw student interest.
