John Cohen is a great coach. But if he was a football coach doing the same "roster management" stunts he pulled, it would be national news on a daily basis. Look at Saban and how butthurt rivals get over his perceived "oversigning," (which doesn't really happen,,,but when/if it does, you're talking about 1-2 guys every couple years).

So sure, Cohen "overhauling" his entire roster---did some kinda shitty things to several kids, too...but he's winning so at the end of the day, what can you say?

I'd side with Maineri as coach of the year...after losing his entire lineup sans Fraley...he's mixed and matched and had a great season, despite the fact the pitching hasn't lived up to what many believed it would be coming into the season. Lange wasn't close to dominant like he was all of last year. Nothing from Latz, McKay, Riley Smith, etc. Lost Cartwright. Bugg, Norman, Stallings not as dominant as expected. Got big things from Gilbert. etc.

And also agree the "worst to first" mantra is stupid as hell. He was the coach last year...not like he took over a last place team of mostly the same players and turned it into conference champion. I'm not saying Cohen doesn't deserve coach of the year, but the "worst to first" bit sound not play a single role into the decision.
