It's pretty easy to understand MSU's past. We never seem to have an administration that supported football. It wasn't until the 90's the presure of fans and boosters etc demanded things change. It doesn't happen over night when trying to change perceptions, it's a tough sell to recruits too. It's been a slow change with ups and downs but it's changing.

Because y'all didn't play a Big 12 team until 97 since the conference didn't exist until 96 according to both the Big 12 media guide and NCAA records book. It was NOT a continuation of the Big 8 + 4 Texas schools like many incorrectly assume.
