What is causing double posts?

I am only hitting "submit" once, but the post is appearing two (or in one case, three) times. Is there just a problem with the site? I normally don't run into this problem.
ETA: And, for some odd reason, it didn't happen on this one. Maybe because this was a thread starter and not a reply?
