you're an idiot.....OJ is the fastest TE I've ever seen and has 1st round talent.
No one doubts his potential, he has not consistently played like first round talent.

How funny that two teams trade the farm for average quarterbacks and this next draft will have better quarterbacks in it.
Clearly neither team that traded up believes that those two are "average quarterbacks". And don't try and give me some crap about the media hype leading them to go one and two; NFL teams have consistently shown that they don't give a crap about what the media says (eg: Media tries to hype up Geno Smith as a Top 10 talent, he rightfully lands in the 2nd round. Media tries to hype Jimmy Clausen as a superstar prospect, he lands in the 2nd).
Nobody trades what those two teams traded so that they can select a QB that they evaluate as "average". Or are you going to try to tell me that your expert opinion is more accurate than the entire front office of two NFL teams?
Both Goff and Wentz are comically disrespected by idiots on the internet. Why? Because they're coming out of non-traditional programs? Ironically enough, many of the same people who feel that those two are only "average" believed that Connor Cook was a Top 15 talent.

Ebron didn't exactly light the world on fire at UNC with about 30 more ypg than Howard in his Junior year and similar ypc. He didn't have another first round talent in Ridley to contend with for targets either. Same as Howard his draft stock was based largely on his athletic ability.

Uh no, 973 yards vs 602 is a big difference, especially when Howard played 2 extra games. 75 ypg vs 40 ypg. Don't know what kind of math you gumps learn in school, but that's not even close.
Not to mention, 200+ came in one game, which is a huge outlier when you look at the rest of his stats.

Which, as I've already pointed out, is largely because Howard played on a team with a 100+ target WR compared to Ebron who didn't have another high-volume receiver.
But my point in the first place wasn't that their numbers are close; they just don't matter that much. If NFL FOs cared that much about on-field production Dennis Pitta and Chase Coffman would've been first round picks.

To go in the first round as a tight end it takes potential and production. Ebron had both. He ran a 4.60 at the combine, which is probably very similar to what Howard will run. Through 3 seasons he was clearly the much better college player when you compare his numbers to OJ's.
The Ridley excuse goes both ways. Defenses keyed on Ridley, which should have given Howard single coverage to get open and make plays. Ebron on the other hand had to do it vs double teams.
Will Howard have good measurements? Yes, but he is still very raw as a player. He's not a good route runner, and his hands were very supsect at times last year. Dude disappeared for the first 14 games. Could he light the world on fire next season? Sure. When you look at his numbers, it's a lot more probable that the Clemson game was a couple fluke big plays.

As long as Cam doesn't use gas masks or Instagram thoughtlessly, he's going way, way, way higher than 9th overall.
Tunsil had huge negatives, NCAA issues swirling around him, Nkimdiche's gaffe at the Combine about him being in the room, and THEN the gas mask vid and Instagram DM's about getting paid and he STILL went 13th overall.
Yet you're saying a kid that's probably a better prospect than that with similar health concerns and less noise around him is gonna go 9th, only 4 picks ahead of where Tunsil slid to?
Stupid.

A good season from Wise and I think he climbs up even higher in the first round projections.
Excited to see what he does. He just needs to do it against weaker competition prior to SEC play to pad his stats a bit.

And another thing....Jeremy Sprinkle will be the first TE off the board in the draft.

Actually if you go by the first three games of the season (which included two of the highest pass attempt games by Alabama QBs this season) he was on pace at 58 ypg to put up better numbers than he did with the Clemson game. As the offense became more centered around Henry (only ~26 pass attempts per game the remainder of the season) and Ridley his opportunities decreased drastically.

Off the top of my head I can only think of one drop the entire season from Howard. cfbfilmroom says two but I know some of their other numbers are wrong so I don't know how accurate that is.

Bama still ran the ball 37, 39, and 42 times in the first 3 games. Not sure how you think it's accurate to project his stats from those games (which were still pretty average) across an entire season when in two of the games Bama threw it 59 and 43 times. Obviously that's not sustainable. I could just as easily say Howard isn't that good of a player, and it showed once SEC play started.

Because it shows that the Clemson game wasn't a fluke? He's obviously not gonna put up 200+ yards every game but he's also too good of a player to go entire games without being targeted once.
OM is SEC and Wisconsin, MSU (who he also had a good game against) and Clemson were all as good defensively as any SEC team besides Alabama so you'd clearly be wrong in saying that.

No way in hell Radio Foster goes in the first round after interviews when team discover he cannot read.

The game they threw it 59 times, stats aren't sustainable (still only had 4 catches)

3 catches 37 yards

3 catches for 57 of Bama's 286 receiving yards
Your argument isn't very compelling. The dude has been average his entire career besides one fluke game when he had 40 ypc.

Hunter Henry just went a few picks out of the first round averaging 58 ypg leading all TEs in yardage. That's what you consider average?

Auburn great James Brooks was drafted in the 1st round and he literally could not read, so.

So you're not even going to reply to what I just posted? You can't pick two random games and project his stats over an entire season.
