That hacked phone is bound to have many more incriminating text conversations. The hacker released a snippet when he knew he would do the most damage. We probably have only seen the tip of the iceberg.
Also, why does Tunsil need a lawyer at this point? He has no connection to OM at this point. Seems like a big waste of time and money when there is no chance of punishment.
So their investigating pretty much clears the so called hacker. If you give him your old phone, guess what? That's not hacking. He just found shite on a phone somevdumbass gave him without erasing it.

there any issue with him hiring this guy in mid-October?
I don't see why, projected nfl draft picks hire financial advisors all the time. Now, if the financial advisor gave him a phone, that's a problem, for Ole Miss.

How is that different than an agent, which you can't employ?

so Tunsil could afford an advisor but not rent....hmmm

This could be the big one.
the ncaa will try to get the phone. If they do then question OM about what they find, and OM answers the question wrong, then Oh my. Lying, well don't do it.

Bingo.

Sounds like a burner phone to me...

So the burner phones rumors could be true?

Yep, and if the guy was willing to post his text I bet he would have no problems giving the phone to the NCAA.
That might be his end game now. Pay up or the phone gets handed over to the NCAA. Maybe that's why tunsil has a lawyer. The guy is attempting to "sell" the phone. Either back to Tunsil, OM or give it to the NCAA.

Just because Tunsil gave him the old phone doesn't mean that the guy owns the instagram account, twitter account, e-mail etc.
If I sell someone my laptop, and forgot to log out of my bank, that doesn't mean they own the money in the account.
Once he changes his passwords, I doubt the phone has much value to the NCAA.

Good. I'm glad this was included.
Any "writer" that spewed that shite this week about the FBI being involved is an obvious liar at this point.
When are you dumbasses going to learn not to believe all the shite they keep feeding you?

well, what could get dicey is if he took screen caps of any compromising posts from his social media. additionally, there's no telling what pictures could be stored on the phone itself. of course, this is all assuming the story about him having Tunsil's old phone is true. However, if the dude gives up Tunsil's phone to the NCAA, he's almost admitting to a crime, a felonious crime, as well, and opening himself up to a lawsuit. Anonymity is his friend right now.

If Tunsil gave him an unsecured phone with social media apps that didn't require a password (or shared the password with him), the runner isn't looking at any legal trouble at all.

yes he would. it would still be unauthorized access regardless if the passwords were preloaded on the phone. I was wrong, in MS it's a misdemeanor. When I practiced in GA, it was a felony. However, if Tunsil can prove damages of more than $100 (he could), it becomes a felony

I was right again.
It was never a "hack" it was just him being stupid to hand over or loose track of a phone with all that on it.

Us financial advisors don't need more fricking hurdles to jump in this industry.

Wouldn't him "giving" the runner the phone be consent, basically?

no it wouldn't at all. by giving the guy the phone, Tunsil did not consent to him using his social media accounts.
