You know I was ambidextrous when I was in kindergarten and could write with both hands. My teacher and mother agreed I shouldn't do that and forced me to choose a hand and never write with the other again. I chose the right hand, but I think I made the wrong choice. I do most things better with my left hand than my right and I think it has fricked up my coordination a bit.

Now if I make the wrong choice about what hand to write with, how the hell is a kid supposed to make a concrete choice about their gender at that age to irreversible consequences if they choose wrong? That's fricking ridiculous, and the people who are for this should be tarred and feathered, as well as having their licenses to teach revoked.

Knees have been jerking in this thread more than in the Riverdance 20th Anniversary Tour. Kids are not choosing their genders.

The well-intentioned but goofy way the Brighton Town Council went about addressing the plight of transgendered students in their schools is both hilarious and sad. They have created unnecessary consternation for the less sensitive of their residents (and those in this thread) and probably have also caused a more hostile environment for the very kids they sought to help.
