Here's a story from a Celtics site LINK

quote:

Brown signed a fully non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract. This contract can be converted to a Two-Way contract or standard NBA contract. If Brown is waived and spend 60 days in the NBAGL, he can earn up to a $50,000 bonus.

quote:

During 2019 Summer League, Brown averaged 6.7 points per game, while hitting over 56% on three-pointers. He played in seven total games, all off the bench.

It had been reported that Boston was going to sign forward Yante Maten, but that signing has yet to materialize. Brown’s signing puts the Celtics at the offseason max of 20 players. It is common at this time of year for NBA teams to do some shuffling at the end of the roster. This is done so teams can give themselves options to acquire Affiliate Player rights for their NBAGL teams. Each team is allowed to designate up to four players as an Affiliate Player. The key is that these players must have been waived by the affiliated NBA team prior to signing with the NBAGL. In Boston’s case, they will likely designate 3-4 of the training camp players as Affiliate Players for the Maine Red Claws.

Sounds like Bryce stole Yante Maten's spot. That's hilarious
