If everything else is equal in the QB competition, start Eason. That's a big if though

If we get into August and the 5th year SR still hasn't separated himself from the TFr, there's really no reason not to start eason.

Yeah, he will almost surely make more mistakes and turnovers than GL/BR, but his upside is unmatched. And really, based on what we saw last year from Lambert...how much worse could eason be? If by some odd reason that I can't even think of right now, we played GL/BR the majority of this season (lol), we're going into '17 with a "new" qb again. Thgat just doesnt' make sense. You make massive strides between year 1 and 2 with a new program, there's tons of examples just in the last 15 years. Going into '17 with unproven QB play is not good. I was under the mindset of "Start GL or BR against unc, get eason some reps to get his feet wet, let him play most of the game against nichols, get him more PT @mizz, then let him loose @OM", but the more I think about it I just think it's more worth it to us to let him take over soon. Like real soon. He may not start against UNC but he should probably be getting ~80% of the game reps come week 2 and onward.

Exactly. If they're essentially equal, you go with the future. If he has indeed separated himself, then fine, but if we're splitting hairs, give Eason the reins and let him run with it. You've got at least 1, 2 if Chubb is healthy, elite backs to run a conservative offense around early, and still take advantage of his ridiculous talents when the windows present themselves. I had the exact same mindset, and I think we've come to the same conclusion. If he's not starting early, we're making a mistake.

Maybe, maybe not. BR has more practice time for sure, but not more under this regime and the same goes for GL. GL has a lot more college game time, BR not so much.

I saw GL for a year, I don't want to relive that. BR has been asked and answered. I don't think GL/BR wins us one more game this year than Eason would.

At the first glance at Eason in red and black, and it is a first glance, he seems to be the choice to me.
