I'm not backtracking at all. I said he would never improve past being terrible. He can still improve, but not to the point of not being terrible.

Well, considering he wasn't terrible last season, you were wrong from the very first sentiment.
Again, just admit you tried to troll, albeit poorly, and got caught. It will just be easier.
