No one said Stanford isn't an elite school, but that Shaw's hyperbole was elitist. Understand? It was a smarmy and arrogant shot that was both douchey and hypocritical.

Agreed. So Stanford's """"""ADMISSIONS""""""" standards are higher. Does that make PhD professors teaching at buildings in Palo Alto somehow better than PhD professors teaching at buildings in Knoxville or Tuscaloosa or Athens or Baton Rouge or Oxford or Lexington ??????

In the end, it's up to the STUDENT-ATHLETE.

LSU has maybe the best Academic Centers for Student Athletes, but in the end, the student has to want to graduate.

LSU has had several Draddy Award Winners (Academic Heisman) as well as numerous Academic All-Americans.

Just because a university is exclusive and costs more to go to and very selective for test scores, doesn't make it "academically" superior.

News flash: ALLLLLLLLLL universities have "academics." Some universities have certain curricula or programs that are well-respected, and some are very highly ranked in research.

But a university cannot GIVE students the grades or pass them and/or graduate them automatically. All they can do is supply the tools needed. The student must have 'a want' to graduate (to quote Les.)

Don't know how it was hypocritical and it's obvious some think it is douchey. Shaw's prior relationship (and competition) with Harbaugh is what to me underlies the comment.

If you want to read more into that into a response to a question that came out of the blue to Shaw, that's on you.

People always searching for a way to be insulted.
