You misunderstand me, why is this considered cheating? When all of the other over the top lavish advantages football players and coaches and top programs get, are okay?

Isn't the point, "other schools can't afford it, so it's not fair for other schools to do it"? When has that ever stopped anyone from doing anything ever college football?

No one that I know of has called it cheating. It's more likely termed an unfair advantage for the more well to do schools.
