Pretty much sums it up. The football arms race is out of hand as it is. Now teams (or, more accurately, a team) are having satellite camps and road trips for spring training. What next? An 'exhibition' game against another team at the end of spring?
The NCAA (correctly, IMO) recognized that this is a path they really didn't want to go down.

Fine, I can get behind that. So why not ban camps altogether? Those are thriving and there's loads of dirty handshakes going around, we all know this, we can be honest.
My question remains, why is THIS the sticking point? Seems arbitrary.
