If you don't think LSU has elite talent along the Dline then you haven't been paying attention. LSU can match bama blue chip for blue chip along the Dline.

Alabama manhandled LSU in the trenches last season. LSU's blue chippers were middle of the pack in the SEC in rush defense (3.81 YPA). Maybe they will be better this year with another year and a very good D-Coordinator, but their performance to date has been mediocre at best.

LSU finished fourth in the SEC in rush "D". Who cares about YPA?

You have teams that finished #9 and #11 in conference in rush "D" ranked as the #2 and #3 DL. How is that possible? If their Dline was that good they should have finished a little higher in that stat.

I think returning starters/two deep and production on the field should carry a lot more weight than YPA given up.

You have bama #1 DL yet, they lose three of their top six players production wise. Lose over 120 tackles and 17 TFL.

LSU returns their entire two deep, 174 tackles, 27 sacks and 45+ TFL.

What does the tide return to justify being the #1 DLin the SEC? Remember though when you lose two all american Dlinemen what that Dline did as a whole last year doesn't really count.
