Why we get pissed off is how Cal is made out to be some sleaze ball while these other guys who have overseen much more flagrant violations and cheating WITH knowledge get a pass. Corey Magette openly took money at Duke and admitted it and no one says shite about it and Coach K is a saint. Dean Smith oversaw the paying of side money to his poor players and the beginning of the systemic academic fraud that continued under Doherty and Williams and no one says shite about Dean.

Marcus Camby took money on his own. Cal helped turn him in for it. What the frick else do you want the guy to do?

Derrick Rose apparently falsified his SAT scores. The NCAA green light him AND MADE NO MENTION OF POSSIBLE IMPROPRIETY until after that season was over. Cal had absolutely zero reason not to play him. He and Memphis had zero idea there was any issues until after the fact. Again, what the frick else do you want the guy to do?

It does in how he's portrayed. No one is saying he shouldn't be held responsible. He was and is. The same goes for the last aforementioned coaches. Even if Pitino really had no idea about what's happened at Louisville, there is no way he shouldn't get the axe for it. Again, it's this notion that Cal is some dirty coach which is patently false. The bottom line is he doesn't butter up the media because he doesn't have to. He goes by his rules and a lot of these coaches and media guyd don't like it because he's successful at it.
