LSU is truly in a rebuilding year.
Sad, because we used to just "reload" not "rebuild".
Should be nasty next year though with all these young players getting more experience.

We still do. Its just rare that 8 of 9 guys in your batting order all leave in the same year due to graduation/draft.
Really not sure why everyone is in "the sky is falling" mode after one weekend too. Give the guys some time. We will be fine. Our starting pitchers are good enough to keep us in most every game, we have a solid closer, and even our hitting isn't as bad as everyone thinks. We left 9 and 11 guys on base in the first 2 games. Just had untimely hitting, thats baseball. Now we aren't going to win the championship this year, but we will be fine. We have 3 big weaknesses that will all be fixed by next year I believe. Lack of a true shortstop, lack of team speed, and average relief pitching.

I want to say that's what SC was last year, but we had about as many Top10 and Top 5 classes the years before as this year's class...we just choked last season. Plus we had All American Wil Crowe last year, but we don't have him this year and our pitching seems to be even better, at least up to this point in time.
We brought in some JUCO players this year, Dom Thompson0Williams, John Jones and Jonah Bride, who are contributing and even leading the SEC in some of the above categories. Next year we'll have Wil Crowe and Cody Mincey back (who we thought could be weekend P starters,) so our Pitching staff is about to get really deep.

Baseball is one sport where LSU can say whatever the frick it wants.
Its like Bama football and UK basketball.
We replaced essentially our ENTIRE batting order from last year. The new kids are highly rated, but highly inexperienced.

TAMU's team ERA went from a 2.12 to a 2.95 after the Auburn series and Auburn's went from a 3.39 to 4.31. Lots of runs.

LSU baseball has won 1 national championship in the last 10 years.
Kentucky basketball has won 1 national championship in the last 10 years.
Alabama football has won 4 national championships in the last 10 years.
One of these is not like the others.

okay, point granted. LSU can say whatever the frick it wants when it comes to baseball. however, the bottom line is your team isn't elite, at best...and sucks hard, at worst....same bottom line as any other team.

Agreed. We are breaking in an entirely new lineup.

excellent, we have found common ground...for a second, after reading your comment, it seemed as if you were sounding like an Alabama football fan, or a Kentucky hoops fan....please don't be that kind of LSU baseball fan.

We'd be a pretty good team if we didn't have to pitch Saturday-Thursday

Much more difficult for the best team to win a national championship in baseball or basketball. Often times, the best team doesn't win (see Michigan St. This year, Kentucky last year).
Football, on the other hand, usually gets is right.
I will say that 2002-2016 LSU baseball is not the same as 1990-2002 LSU baseball.
