I hope Mizzou is putting their name in the hat?

FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas basketball guard Jimmy Whitt is considering a transfer from the program this spring, according to multiple sources.
The freshman guard from Columbia, Missouri, played in all 32 games his first year at Arkansas and averaged 6.1 points in 17.2 minutes per game. The light use combined with the expected injection of three guards to the roster next season, Whitt is examining his options, according to one of the sources.
A spokesman for the Arkansas basketball team declined comment. Coach Mike Anderson is scheduled to have a post-mortem press conference on Monday. The Razorbacks finished the season 16-16 overall and 9-9 in the SEC. They were beaten in the first round of the SEC Tournament by Florida in their final game.
Junior-college guards Jaylen Barford and Daryl Macon have signed letters of intent to play for Arkansas next season. High-school guard C.J. Jones is also committed, though not signed. Barford is ranked as the No. 1 junior-college point guard in the country and Macon is the No. 1 JUCO shooting guard, according to 247sports.com. The Razorbacks also will return their leading scorer in shooting guard Dusty Hannahs and former starting point guard Anton Beard in the backcourt.
Whitt was the No. 77 player in the nation in the 2015 recruiting class, according to ESPN. A 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard, he was childhood friends with Arkansas guard Manny Watkins when the two were in Columbia together. Now-Arkansas coach Mike Anderson was the coach of Missouri in that town with Watkins’ father, Melvin, an assistant on the Tigers staff. The two coaches came together to Arkansas in 2011. Whitt’s decision reportedly came down to Arkansas Missouri.
Whitt’s leaving the program would make him the third Arkansas player to transfer away in the last two seasons. Guard Nick Babb left for Iowa State and forward Jacorey Williams went to Middle Tennessee State after last season.
California is one of the schools Whitt is considering, the source said. Whitt would have to sit out the 2016-17 season under NCAA rules and would still have three years of eligibility remaining.

Not coming to Mizzou
Transferring in conference would cause him to lose a year of eligibility.
Mizzou needs guys that can play and contribute next year.

Not a good sign for CMA.
He does have a better path forward than us. But who doesn't?

His signing class is really good.
3 4* JUCOs. The #1 PG, the #1 SG and Arlando Cook a very good combo forward.
If the forward doesn't go to the NBA this offseason they will be a top 4 SEC team next year.

He may be leaving because he thinks he has been recruited over. I don't think this reflects bad on CMA as they should be pretty decent next year.

Because it will be part of the transferring agreement for him not to go to another SEC school.

Ricardo Ratliffe was the #1 JUCO player.
Mizzou has had its share of really good juco players.

Ratliffe as a junior was the Big 12 newcomer of the year. He averaged 10.6 points 6 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and shot 57%

Well I stand corrected, did he have a really slow start then? I just remember having convos about how raw he was and how JUCO's cant be trusted. This is if I wasn't thinking of someone else.

I think Cardo faced lots of u realistic expectations. His JUCO numbers were great. I think his sophomore #'s were something like 27 points 13 rebounds 40% from 3.
Because if that and being the number 1 rated juco player we expected huge numbers from him. Instead be just got a very good player.
Certain stats/skills really transfer well from level to level. Rebounding and shot blocking are the ones that stand out to me the most.
Which is why I would really like Bigby-Williams, Smith, and Jackson. All are good to great rebounders and defenders.
