Hunt comes in to close out the 9th, up 8-1. 1st batter grounded out to SS then he walked 3 straight.
In the meantime, De Oca continues to have a 0.00 ERA and has struck out 100% of the batters faced. I like Hunt. I like the story of Hunt playing baseball his final year. TJ should be fired for throwing him in a meaningless inning when someone like De Oca, who actually has a future if TJ doesn't ruin it, could have really used the work.
For the discussion on why MR gets such a low grade on retaining TJ, this is exhibit 1.

Has he still only faced 1 batter?

He may not pan out but we don't know if he doesn't throw. Let him try to work out his issues in these meaningless innings

Is there some health issue that maybe isn't public?
Has anyone asked him why he isn't throwing?

I've wondered that too. Could very well be the case. The kid did have Tommy John in high school but I hadn't heard of any set backs and that was over two years ago now. He was throwing the last part of his senior year impressing scouts, didn't hear of any arm problems last year, no problems over the summer when he impressed scouts again and none this year. But is a definite possibility given the history.

Really bad loss today and already trailing 2-0 in game 2.

That's TJ doing what TJ does best. We're losing in the final game too currently

How do we lose a series to Youngstown State?

And it's official and this is why we don't make the tourney and why TJ has togo

Yepp. Big mistake extending TJ. Just more of the same from him

It sucks but SEMO is no slouch. They are a tournament team. Just be glad their top 2 didn't throw.
Lucchessi - 29 innings 0.93 ERA 42 K
Chandler - 27 innings 1.00 ERA 34 K
with that being said, this weekend is big. Playing the best team in the country, you need to win at least 1 game.

Also, if TJ were to finally be let go, Mizzou needs to target Bieser at SEMO. Dude has done nothing but produce since taking over.

Jamie should have been excused long ago. Time to finally aim for something above ho hum baseball. Let's get a motivated new coach who actually wants to win.
I can't believe I'm the only Mizzou alum/fan who's tired of being second rate in sports (with apologies to Smith and the wrestlers).

No slouch but legit SEC teams beat Semo 9 out of 10 times.

Scored 13 runs today. Had 1 extra base hit, a double.

Florida, #1 in the nation this weekend. Weird thing is, I wouldn't count us out.
