There is a reason J MF Jacobs and the people that run the AD. They won't get the frick out of the way and let people they hired do their job.

You realize if you eliminate the GOBN at Auburn, Auburn likely becomes Vandy, right?
Right?
Do you really think YOUR season tickets (no matter how overpriced they are) are funding the program?

You recognize JJ is a yes man that answers to the money yet you believe that a new AD will bring about a change.
It's irrationally greedy. These donors think they know what's best for the AD, yet all it's doing is satisfying this feeling of being in power they have.
The donors should trust employees of the AD to make the right decisions and handle the business in a responsible appropriate manner.
My dream is we bring in a new AD that says 'enough', and if you don't like it then GTFO. Any lost donor money could be recouped with fund raising campaigns.

In football it was simple. Gus put every egg he had into the JJ basket as did most of us, and he fell flat on his face.
Basketball: MAJOR rebuilding job. Bruce will get us there just takes time.
FIRE Jay Jacobs as always, but that is never going to happen.

1. True
2. A lot of people care about baseball
3. You sure about that?

I think there are donors that are likely turned off by those currently in power at Auburn who would gladly step up to the plate.
Even if we were to fire Gus, I think the current power structure at Auburn would be a detriment to finding a better replacement. We could have hired Gary Patterson when Tubs left but Jay Jacobs & co turned him off.
I'm a poster on a message board so I'm not pretending to have all the answers, but I know that things at the top have to change at Auburn or we'll WISH we were as good as Vandy.

Seriously, Vandy OWNS us all time in Football. They won a NC in Baseball last year and Basketball has a shot at an NCAA Tourney bid
Right now, Vandy has a better AD than Auburn does with less money and support.

Well stated.

This board would have wanted Gary fired year 2

Think we would be more patient with someone with a proven track record of success vs guys with resumes like Chizik and Gus

At this point I'm resigned to the fact that Jay Jacobs will be the AD here as long as he wants. It's been one disaster after another and if he hasn't been fired by now he won't. The President obviously doesn't care about athletics.

Seriously, they're ahead all-time by one game and they've only won twice since 1955.

I was reading that, but the article says the last thing he signed was in 2011.
Anyhow, as I mentioned before, he ain't going anywhere.

Wasn't there some smoke in the last few months that he was thinking about "retiring" after the academic year is over?

JJ in December:
"I'm not retiring, stepping down," Jacobs said on WJOX-FM's Opening Drive. "I don't have anything else that I want to do right now. I love what I'm doing. When I get to the point I'm not excited about getting up and going to work every morning for these student-athletes I'll probably do something different."
He said at the time he had a "multi-year contract and I plan to honor it."
File this away in the "Evidence that Auburn has no insiders" folder

Yeah there was talk towards the end of the season but it didn't pick up much steam.
Like many have pointed out, even if Jacobs is fire there'll just be another puppet put in his place. Change has to come from the very top all the way down.
I could actually see Les Snead being the primary target. Once the Rams are settled in LA, I think he and Fisher are our the door. Les would be the text book Auburn hire
