That's what I assumed. I think there are some that are commenting on this story who are of the mistaken belief that both of Bowles' conflicting stories carry the same legal weight.

Agreed. But it does cast doubt. I want to know what he said to the grand jury.

We can probably safely assume that whatever testimony he gave in front of the Grand Jury will not look good for UT when it is released.

Only the prosecutors call witnesses for a GJ hearing. They don't put people on the stand for the GJ unless they are going to say something that strengthens the case for the prosecution.

Now, the Defense might be able to rip him apart at the real trial but if he was asked by the prosecutor to come and testify before the GJ then we can probably assume whatever he said only strengthened the case against the thugs who raped this girl.

When we do get to see the testimony then it won't include a cross exam either so it will probably be pretty damning.
