Don't doubt it at all. This sounds exactly like something Bitch would do.

This may or may not have happened, no way of knowing. But this isn't provable. In today's society where things often stretched and twisted before the facts get out, it could spell trouble for Butch. My bet is that he'll be alright, but so far, it seems like the worst case scenario has actually occurred to this point, so who knows.

Well the coaches who do it the right way are fired constantly.
Fanbases rarely give these coaches a break for doing the right thing once the losses start piling up.

I'm sorry...
Did he actually hurt someone??? Force someone to rape/assault/batter someone???
The idea of living in a freedom of speech society is just a dream.
99% of this board has said worse.
Still pissed about Paula Dean

And let's be clear...before the dumbass Vol fans chime in. This guy isn't suing anyone. He isn't a plaintiff. He didn't press charges against his piece of shite teammates.
But he did testify, under penalty of perjury, in federal court.
Butch Jones deserves more than just being fired. He deserves to have the shite beaten out of him

Oh man this is bad if true. Career killing bad but I'd like to buy that young man a beer if he's of age. That is a tremendous amount of courage
My family knows Drae (I don't) and from what they've told me, he's just a good kid. This whole thing is designed to tarnish the image of UT and force a settlement. At this point, I think you have to end it. However, the stuff with Drae is truly embarrassing.

Didn't Drae testify under oath that he was never physically assaulted? Seems to be some inconsistencies but that's the norm for the Tennessean imo

That doesn't mean he can't be vindictive, though. Your points are compelling, no question, and I tend to agree, but never rule out the possibility of malice as a motivation even without any other apparent gain. People can be assholes.

He's said he wasn't assaulted to the news. I'm guessing the stuff that was said under oath is what's coming out now. I doubt the son of a police captain would lie under oath, but you can lie to the news as much as you want.

This statement is downright comical. The worst case scenario for Jones is that he gets fired and never coaches again. The Vols end up looking at a Mike Price scenario where they have to hire someone right before or after spring practice.

Agreed. If true.

Yeah...and when was the last time you saw someone sworn in before being interviewed on ESPN?

actually, yes. If he offers (at minimum) tacit approval of their actions while he chastises a kid on his team for doing the right thing, then he is perpetuating the culture that will ultimately harm others and prove to be his downfall.
This isn't a "free speech" issues. This is a "leader of men" issue, and if what is alleged of Jones is true, he's failing.
Freedom of speech does not = freedom of consequence.
