Damn. That's horrible. I hope he runs a 4.2 now.

Didn't he go to Milton, that's a pretty decent area no?

I thought we paid better than that...?

Incredible. Hope he surprises everyone at the combine and can get himself drafted. He's got heart and no question about the determination

I know you're being facetious but it is kind of sad that our coaches hands were tied so much that they couldn't help out without the NCAA being in their arse.

Good luck to Peyton. Doing the right thing.

I wrote a simple sentence. No reason for you to be confused.

Here's our coaching existing his new $140,000 BMW I8 which he *likely bought for recruiting purposes while an ex-player discusses the plight of a homeless parent.
There's a lot of money going around in CFB that schools are coming up with asinine ways to spend it (big video board) rather than it trickling down to the players who actually need it
*Gus doesn't seem like a sports car guy imo, Mrs. Christy on the other hand

This is what I was hinting at, Pubecrab.

So you think our coaches really should have done something to help a player's mother?

Paying college players is a whole different conversation, that still wouldn't alleviate a homeless parent and their financial issues.

No. Only because the NCAA wouldn't allow it. You don't remember the short term loan that a Bama coach gave to Haha Clinton Dix? That assistant coach had to get fired for giving the loan. If the NCAA allowed like an emergency fund or something, I'd be all for it.

Gus went 6-6 after being projected to win the conference for the 2nd straight year. He owes us all money.
All jokes aside, I'm sure the coaches would have given money to help if it wouldn't torpedo the program. The issue is CFB is a Billion Dollar industry that doesn't adequately compensate their revenue generating athletes.

They have been getting something that all football athletes have gotten for many decades. The school isn't responsible for taking care of parents.
Its a bad situation but schools are shelling out a lot of money for facilities, equipment, dorms, amenities, etc.
No need to pay athletes to play. I think if a college player is physically and talented enough to jump to the NFL right away, they should be able to.

No I don't think the school is responsible for taking care of players parents. I do think a stipend or some form of reimbursement beyond a scholarship is warranted.
If you ask me to choose between the big arse video board or paying players, I'll choose players every time.

Individual students can also petition a school to have their cost of attendance increased.
Didn't know this. I wonder if Peyton received extra assistance.
