It just depends on who you play.
Yep. If you can squeeze in 3 games vs Top 100 opponents, 2 of them vs Top 50 opponents and go 2-1........you are going to get a significant RPI boost.
Say for Alabama
- beat Ole Miss (80th RPI)
- beat Texas A&M (30th RPI)
- lose to Kentucky (8th RPI)
Leave Nashville with 2 more Top 100 wins, 1 more Top 50 win and a loss to a Top 10 RPI team all on neutral? That's gonna bump our RPI 5-10 spots.

That's why I can't stress enough how important it is for LSU.
1) Kentucky
2) Texas A&M
3) LSU/SCAR
4) SCAR/LSU
5) Alabama/Florida
6) Florida/Alabama
That'll probably be your top 6. Those 3/6 and 4/5 games are going to be huge for a team like LSU (but really all four of those teams). Our first game in the SEC Tournament will be against a top-50 RPI team. Right off the bat.
ETA: If aTm can beat Kentucky, they might actually grab the one seed. But aTm has been so weird lately, it's hard to predict them winning every game after Kentucky. But it's certainly possible.
