There's an angle to every discussion. When you are trying to convince or popularize your side you have to present it at an angle.
This is the first time you and I have been engaged in a discussion so I should tell you that I come to this forum to learn, not to teach.
You surely accept that it's very unlikely that anyone's opinion will be changed by something someone shares on this board.

It's discussion and sharing, not debate. Opinion reigns supreme and as long as everyone accepts that they're just learning the opinions of others, nastiness such as that mentioned by Scrooster serves no purpose and is just a waste of keyboard clicks.

Nobody will change an opinion on this board. I am just trying to describe that we all have different points of views (angles) to everything, so if yours is different than mine it's a different angle.
Now that being said, I have enjoyed this discussion as its been civil opinionated and factual all in one. There is no intention of me to "teach" you anything but just present your side.
That is why I asked about war monuments not to chastise ridicule or disagree, but to hear why you thought that. I feel you are allowed to have an opinion I may like it or not, I'm allowed to have an opinion, you can like it or not. But we should be at least be able to conduct a civil conversation, much like the founders did at the Masonic Lodge or two guys sharing stories at a bar. At the end of the conversation we should be able to thank you hope to have another one sometime again.
Sorry for the Crime and Punishment length post
