And Hirohito was most definitely known as Emperor Showa, the 124th Emperor of Japan and he reigned until 1989. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Emperor Akihito who still reigns today.

Had you typed that we tried Hideki Tojo as a war criminal, and not implied that he was Emperor, I would not have challenged your claim, but Tojo was a general, War Minister and Prime Minister, not Emperor.

He was hung in December of 1948.

Japan has also been allowed to erect many memorials to their soldiers, sailors and pilots who fought in WWII.
