Yea, I think uga got tired of winning 9-11 games a season but never getting over the hump to play for more. Pretty understandable if you ask me.
Personally, I always thought Kirby was going to stay at bama until he got fired or took one of two HC jobs:
1.) UGA
2.) bama
He played at uga, has had a very succesful career under one of the (if not the) most succesful coaches ever, and brings a lot of name recognition and the ability to sell that he knows how to put guys in the league.
I hope he fails miserably, but it makes sense all around
Also, why is this being discussed this in the 2017 recruiting thread? I thought maybe we had gotten another NLI or something
Edit: Personally, I think the guy is scum. A friend of a friend was a grad assistant for him, and when Kirby took the uga job the guy asked for a reference letter so he could apply for other jobs. Kirby never responded to him, so now the guy is up in Minnesota coaching at a D3 school.

So Garner said the following on Truesdall
Mentioned that he was running in the 4.8 range at camps his JR year at 310lb. Once you normalize from Auburn 40 clocks to real 40 times, a 5.1 for a JR 300+ lineman is pretty legit

We're going to try to trim him down to about 300 or 310, but he's a kid that's a big, powerful, explosive, quick-twitch guy
