Who do you think is coming up with these ratings. While yes, it's true that it's not just one program influencing the ratings, one guy bumping a rating often creates a domino effect. If you follow recruiting at all, you have to know there are guys that are 2-3 stars all the way through high school that Sr. year seem to be bumped up to high 3 and 4 stars if/when top programs get involved/interested. The recruiting guys are definitely going to defer to coaches in the talent evaluation department, so while it may not be a full star bump, ratings are definitely impacted by how different staffs evaluate a player.

More publicity/interviews inevitably leads to additional attention/further evaluation. Not saying it's any one program that sees this happen, simply that it *does* happen.
