You will notice that kids that are already enrolled tend to take a ratings dive, and those left undecided tend to hold or improve their ratings. Also those who skip the all star games because of injuries get hammered, even if they have done the camp circuit for years. They manipulate this crap and create narratives to bring it to crescendo on signing day. It's soap opera for white grown men in cargo pants (guilty) that live in the deep south (guilty again).

Not melting. Just don't agree that there's some sort of huge conspiracy theory. I do think the recruiting services value the evaluations of Bama's staff, and understandably so.
Every single recruiting class Nick Saban has signed as the head coach of an SEC school has gone on to win at least one national championship.
There have only been 2 recruiting classes that finished #1 that didn't play for at least one national championship, and both were USC classes of the late 2000s.
