So what I should take from this is Mississippi State will be going on probation in the near future?
NCAA investigates recruit about his recruitment by Ole Miss, even though he signed and played at Mississippi State. So you are saying this kid had his hand out and was offered extra benefits but decided to turn that down and play for free? I mean I don't put a lot of stock in NCAA investigators, but even they might have a few follow up questions for MSU.

It seems like they average a probation ever 5-6 years. So I guess look out in another year or two.

Yes, some kids and parents want to do things the right way. I don't know the facts in this case but some families don't want to risk eligibility.

Happens all the time. Just ask Bo Scarborough. Took money from OM supposedly, and then gave it back. Signed with Bama. That's why he was suspended by Bama 4 games. Why there's a second investigation of OM. Saban was even quoted at the time that there was an issue with his recruitment but a different school.
