What? You're not trying to be better than most when you label yourself as a good Christian Unversity and you actively support an Athletic Department that supports rapists and helped facilitate the murder of a student-athlete. If the University was truly trying to represent Baptists, they wouldn't allow their AD to get away with some of the shite it does.

Or they'd rather not see their religion misrepresented by hypocrites. That's half the problem with the interpretation of Christians today, people/organizations working in the name of religion when it's quite the opposite.
ETA: I see a lot of Baptists who are not fans of Baylor for this reason. And rightfully so.

Lots of people perceive Notre Dame as a better school than most. If Baylor is trying to be like Notre Dame, then it stands to reason they're trying to be perceived as better than most.

People shouldn't care how others represent their religion because they can't control that. A person can only control being the best they can be.
