I think those days are over. I imagine we'll save them til next year for quality players.

While I think you are right....wasn't one of the criticisms of Richt was that he undersigned?

I have a feeling Kirby knows where we stand, and is working on some good quality players to step in if we do whiff on a couple of players. I am surprised at the angst of some of the posters, though. We have a great class any way you slice it.

The 27 signee target that many have thrown out is dependent on more attrition as far as I'm aware. Last I looked, I think 23-24 is the most we could take without additional guys transferring. Have had a somewhat difficult time trying to confirm though with my original spreadsheet who has/hasn't transferred + who's actually on scholarship.

Ultimately, the "undersigning" criticism of Richt (warranted or not) was directly a result of leaving us ~20 scholarship players short of 85, and obviously most of that was prior to the more rigid 25 initial counters per year limit. Kirby seems to have a pretty good grasp on the teams numbers, the minds of the recruits, and what he wants, so I think it's fair to give him the benefit of the doubt here. He was also vocal about where he felt like he missed last year, and has clearly addressed it, so I think he's likely to criticize himself and the class if we miss on all DT prospects - and ultimately would be taking that as a big focal point for next year's class. If there is a position we can afford to miss this year, it would be DL given the haul we got in 16.
