I've never been
NOLA's a beautiful city. Katrina ravaged her but her spirit and it's people are strong. Some of her are gone lost forever but the rebuild was an opportunity to both cleanse and repair the old and create the new. You should go and experience (both Mardi Gras and not) it then draw your own conclusions.
