FWIW, as would be expected, Tabor has walked back from his comment and said he was wrong to compare it that way.

I just turned 49. Black students actually sued the University of Alabama for the Right to play football during my life time. They even named Bear Bryant as a defendant. May have been his idea, because he was in a political war with Wallace, but it happened.
