I know how a lab works and how many long hours grad students put in. I contend most grad student work isn't difficult, just tedious, and is something many people are capable of doing. And it's not like the grad student system is perfect either. Schools give them way too many teaching responsibilities and they are fighting back against it.

They still do not have the amount of restrictions student athletes have on them. And why is it that because both situations suck that it should remain that way?

You asserted athletes brought in more. You still haven't backed that up.

No, the work is not something many people are capable of doing. I think you're alluding to undergrad volunteers that usually start by checking in subjects or washing glassware, and so on.

Do you read any of the retractions and corrections to articles these days? Faulty lab procedures, incorrect data entry, etc are all major portions of the causes for these things. Running a Western Blot and similar items is not like running the drive through at Wendy's.

As for your last question - topic too large for this forum.
