Jemarcus Russell being the biggest bust in the history of the NFL is the reason why there are NFL rookie contract restrictions now.

This shows just how far the Raiders AND other GM's talent evaluation has fallen off. Remember Blaine Gabbert? Jake Locker, Trent Richardson, etc, etc, etc.

I do a mock draft every year with several other guys and I had Jamarcus going in the 3rd round. Which ironically now, looks like I was being generous. Another guy had him 4th round and one had him early 2nd round. He had a big arm, most QB's do nowadays but I never saw that "it" factor with him that I saw in Brady or Peyton Manning. He should have been drafted but number one was borderline senile. He wasn't just a bust in the pros because I thought and said openly I'd be surprised if he lasts 3 years. He was also in the SEC in kind of a down time so it was a little easier to win games. Had he been drafted in the 3rd round, given a few years as a backup and learning the ways he may have been serviceable but that was his ceiling. Heck, LSU fans had him amoung the best ever QB's in college and would be the best in the NFL with future HOF credentials

Some of my LSU friends despised the guy for being the starter over Flynn and actually were adamant he would bust. I told them to stfu, but looks like they were right.

I'll believe this when you post some proof.
