LA is fricking terrible. If you are going to move to California move to San Diego, San Fran, or a million other places before moving to LA. That is all

Depends, from Newport up to Santa Monica, I could stand it. Agree with San Diego but I have no desire to move to San Fran.

I've been to LA twice.. really enjoyed it. My friend does live in downtown though near Dodger stadium so that might make a difference. Well he did, he did just tell me the other day he moved to Venice, which was also awesome.

So. I disagree with the premise. LA is awesome. Absolutely awesome. One of my favorite places to visit. Manhattan Beach up to Santa Monica is amazing and nothing in the state is better than Malibu. But... Knowing people that live there... Unless I wanted to live in Koreatown and share a tiny arse house with three Asian bros, or live on someone's couch, it's damn near impossible to make it work. And the traffic is so horrendous it's not worth it to live far from the beach, so your options are limited. Anaheim, for instance, sounds miserable. It's extremely cost prohibitive. Which is true for San Fran as well, and San Fran's weather sucks. You're right about San Diego that would be my top target for living in California, but if I had the money, I'd live near Manhattan Beach and be super happy.
