Yep, and now the area around the Dome is light years better than it was even 7 years ago when I moved back here. We were in Decatur, are now temporarily in Morningside with a family friend as a house gets finished in Brookhaven. It's just a great place. Still southern enough, but cosmopolitan/international and has enough outsiders that you can get away from some things that it is impossible to get away from in most areas of the region.

this is why I'm in Charlotte and not the upstate. I'm a couple hours from anywhere I'd like to go in the Palmetto state, a short trip to the mountains, and the city has all of the amenities I need to do what I need to do in my career.

Yea, I like Charlotte a lot as well. Also close to the Sand Hills and all that lovely golf.

What part of Charlotte? Davidson here.

If I could get back to Gulf Coast I'd leave today. Food and football are foreign to these people.

I'm in Charlotte

This is off topic but, what's the best way to get from Charlotte to Jacksonville, NC? My son is stationed at Camp Lejeune and its a pain getting there from North GA. We usually take I-20 throught S.C. then up I-95 to N.C. the 74 toward Wilmington then take back roads to Jacksonville. Would like to take I-85 to Charlotte the go east from there, but there doesn't look like there are any good routes to take.
